Citra, A Powerful Thrust of a Purposefull Hop!

004 Citra from Oakham Ales , Peterborough, Cambridgeshire, England, has successfully made the trip across the Atlantic  to Ontario, Canada, in bottle form.

Striding in at 4.6 percent abv, this is a single varietal hopped beer, featuring the Citra hop. It pours a polished pale golden colour, releasing notes of refreshing ruby red grapefruit and a scent of fresh barley malt. On the palate, the bitterness is upfront  but it is not overpowering. The extended bitter finish dries out neatly, leading to a repeated request for more!

I got my wife’s uncle and his son drinking Citra on cask at the Wellington in Birmingham! It was bloody brilliant!
